There Corporation is a member of Finland's Solar Decathlon team
Solar Decathlon is a high level architecture and energy-efficient construction of a decathlon, in which 20 university student groups design and build self-sufficient, solar powered residential building. Teams compete in ten categories, which include. architecture, engineering and construction, electrical energy balance, innovation and sustainability. The energy self-sufficiency must be achieved without compromising the comfort of living and architectural quality.
Aalto University is the Finnish participant in the competition. Its building is called Luukku. The Luukku house aims to embody a long tradition of Finnish timber house construction.The house will show how timber and timber based materials can be used in a variety of applications from structure, insulation, cladding, interior floor, wall and ceiling finishes, for moisture and heat buffering qualities and applications in very wet areas such as bathrooms.
There Corporation provides its energy gateway - ThereGate - to the Luukku house. ThereGate enables the gathering and combining of data from the different systems of Luukku and provides an intuitive user interface from which to present the processed information.
